Abstract: |
The traffic problem in Bangkok is quite well-known, as in most big cities where there are more than 6 million people in the metropolitan areas and vicinities. The Expressway and Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (ETA) is commissioned to construct as well as to maintain the transit system in order to facilitate travelling and transportation, especially in Bangkok, to meet acceptable conditions. The Second Stage Expressway System with an approximate length of 40 km has been established and implemented to link with the First Stage System, in order to facilitate traffic flow within Bangkok and its suburbs. The structural system for the Second Stage Expressway System in Bangkok is considered to be one of the most effective and appropriate constructions. |
