Abstract: |
Desalinated seawater — considered a novelty by the United States water treatment community just five years ago — has been transformed with remarkable swiftness into a viable water resource in this country. As the first large-capacity desalination plant faces the challenges of its first real pilot tests in Florida, it is appropriate to evaluate the hurdles the technology has overcome, as well as the challenges it will face in the future. |
