Abstract: |
Vibration monitoring of generators - Combined cycle power plant in Sur (Oman)The construction of the combined cycle power plant (CCPP) in Sur is the largest energy project in Oman. With the commissioning of the gas and steam turbines of the latest generation a capacity of 2000 MW will be delivered. For foundations of selected gas turbine generator sets, all static and dynamic design documents were reviewed for completeness and plausibility. As a result of this document examination, non-destructive tests to verify the reinforcement layer and vibration measurements according to ISO 10816 have been recommended. These vibration measurements should record amplitudes and frequencies at the foundation and at main bearing points of the generator shaft during the testing and operational phases. This allows the comparison with vendor's requirements and to ensure serviceability. For this purpose, a modern vibration measurement system was installed, which allows access via a web browser, so that the monitoring and evaluation can take place safely and comfortably from Germany. |
