Abstract:

Determination of bending moments and dimensioning of insulating glazings

As a rule, insulating glazings consist of two or three panes of float glass. In special cases, such as for fall protection, at least one of the panes must be produced from laminated safety glass. Regarding the different utilisation of the panes, reference is made to the relevant literature.
The following section discuss the determination of bending moments and a systematic approach is described by using the force method based on the tabulated auxiliary values to conduct tension and deflection analysis - for ordinary systems without the use of any special computer programme, but only by using the tabulated values.
