Abstract:

The Sacramento River trail and connecting bridge form part of the City of Redding's park system. This area of the park lies to the northwest of the city on both sides of the river extending upstream about 4 km to Keswick Dam. Because of the dam's presence, the banks of the river directly downstream have extensive rock outcropping which dramatically add to the beauty of the river basin. The new bridge, located at this juncture provides a link between the previously separated trails lying just above the rocky areas on each bank and thus completes a 8 km trail loop when combined with an old arch bridge at the other end.
