Abstract: |
The article offers various definitions of risk and defines risk as the description of an incident, which in case of unhindered occurrence will with adequate probability lead to unintended consequences and resulting damage. The magnitude of the risk depends on the extent of damage and the probability of occurrence. One essential aspect of sensible handling of risks is the appropriate use of the tools of modern risk management. Risk management covers the phases of risk identification, risk assessment, risk mitigation and risk monitoring. |
