Abstract: |
Redistribution of moments in linear reinforced concrete elements is examined. Experiments prove that redistribution of moments, rather than being a phenomena associated with the formation of plastic hinges, is a continuous state/process, commencing with the formation of the first flexural cracks in the element and governing the behaviour of the element throughout the stages of plastification and up to the ultimate limit state (failure). |
