Quality label for sustainable housing - a guide and a new certification system.

Management decisions in the housing industry must be taken in the field between social, environmental and cultural requirements of the residential construction and have to be economically efficient. These various dimensions have to be balanced and none of the dimensions can be maximized at the expense of another. The description and measurement (in terms of benchmarks) of sustainability makes sustainable action visible and transparent. But certification by itself does not automatically lead to a sustainable quality. The documentation of a sustainable quality of newly constructed residential buildings is a component and part of a consistent sustainability management and implementation of sustainability as a business objective. The article presents the "quality label sustainable housing", and introduces some aspects in a more profound level.
