Abstract: |
Arrigorriaga Brudge and Footbridge designThe basic features of the design and erection of a vehicular and a pedestrian bridge are presented here. The first is a three span, continuous slab structure made of prestressed concrete, with variable width. The foorbridge is a two span, cable stayed bridge, with a re inforced concrete deck and pylon and stays made with prstressing steel cables within mortar injected polyethilene ducts. Such a footbridge has veen conceived like an urban promenade, taking the pylon as the central piece of the architectural composition and makin the cables act as visual connecting linesbetween the deck and the pylon head. At the top of the deck an elevated garden area is reached which rests upon a structure monolithically designed with the deck. |
