Abstract:

Bridge over the Segura river

The bridge over the Segura river is located in the Murcia-Puerto Lumbreras motorway, in Murcia. It is a prestressed concrete continuous deck 656 m long. There are two independent decks 13,50 m long with a 3,0 m wide median strip. It is longitudinally divided into three parts by halved joints. The main spans vary from 33,50 m to 34,00 m with a constant depth of 1,50 m. In the first part there is a 64,0 m long main span. It has been solved with a lower deck arch structure. The two carriageways are joined together by transverse ribs. With this solution the same depth of the deck and the same construction procedure has been used. The main structural and constructional characteristics are detailed.
