Abstract:

Bridge over the Piloña river

The main features of the project and construction of the Bridge over Piloña river are described. Its located in the Arriondas bypass (Asturias). The bridge is formed by a prestresed concrete continuous deck. It has a constant depth box girder supported by two "Y" shaped main piers. The open arms are embeded in the deck reducing both the free span and its depth. The total length of the bridge is 282 m and there are five spans of 56,00, 82,00, 62,00, 46,00 and 36,00 m repectively. There are some approach spans well adapted to the hill rides.
