Abstract: |
Bridge over the Alcanadre RiverThe bridge consists of 3 intermediate spans of 51 m each and 2 end spans of 36 m each, over piers of 51 m heigh. The deck is a composite construction of precast channel girders conected to an 'in situ' concrete slab. These precast girders are pretensioned in a Plant and shipped by special transporters. The bigges units have a weight of 148 t each. The erection is made by means of powerfull hydraulic mobile cranes, founded at the level of the river. Design and calculation of the hollow piers is conditioned by the seismic placement of the bridge. Its box section changes linneary with the heigh and has a wall thickness of 35 cm. The top slab is continuous over all the spans, so the traffic conitions are alike those of a continuous deck of 225 m, without intermediate joints. Special shape of the pier caps allows easy surview and eventually substitution of the bearing devices. |
