Abstract:

Cable stayed bridge on Giribaile damm

This bridge is a stayed structure made of reinforced concrete, with two single spans 70 m maximum, 0,60 m deep and 5 m wide, which allows the trucks to access for the installation and reparation fo the intake tower drainage gates. It was built by successive cantilever casted "in situ", by means of lower carriages. The cable stayed system is half-harp, with two planes of stays made of self-protected cables. The pier has an "H" shape with inclined shafts. The extraordinary flexibility of the decks has made necessary to prepare a detailed plan of concreting and to incorporate provisional anchoring system to the ground, to keep during the execution, the displacement of the front of construction less than 40 cm.
