Abstract: |
With a total floor plan area of 1.8 million m², Kuala Lumpur City Centre is a mixed development consisting of offices, shops, entertainment and recreational facilities, hotels, apartments and parking facilities. The Petronas Towers, at 450 m to the tips of the pinnacles, are at present the two tallest buildings in the world and have created an elegant landmark for Kuala Lumpur. Each tower contains approximately 185,000 m² of total floor area on 88 occupied floors. A concrete core and cylindrical tube structure provides a safe, elegant, efficient and constructible solution to the challenge of designing the world's tallest buildings, the Petronas Towers. |
