Abstract:	Architect Driss Kettani offers us a poetic exposition of the emotional and religious sensations that light, darkness and penumbra can instigate and perpetuate within human consciousness. The play of light, position of the observer, shift of colour, and the delicate, complex geometries of the mashrabiyas of the southern Mediterranean all have a role in this dance of light and shade.
