Abstract:

Large and complex bridges usually have significant nonlinear effects. In the design of seismic and other dynamic characteristics, it is usually impossible to obtain results from simple force calculations. In this paper, taking the mechanical parameters of the complex structure of double wide double tower cable-stayed bridge as an example, a shear damper in seismic field is designed. The experimental results show that: (1) The shear type mild steel damper can improve the lateral seismic performance of cable-stayed bridges. (2) Because the double span cable-stayed bridge is connected by dampers between towers, the mechanical parameters of dampers will affect the natural structure of the bridge, and there is no obvious linear relationship between the yield force of the damper and the bending moment at the bottom of the tower.
