Abstract:

This article describes the physics behind the calculation of autoclave cycles and their use in Excel and simulation tools. The idea behind this is, that each component of an autoclave regime like the autoclave, the curing equipment, the dry mass, and the water content of the AAC is considered separately and the autoclave cycle is split up into small time intervals of one minute for example. This allows to calculate the timely development of temperature, pressure, steam, and condensate quantities. It is also possible to calculate the timely development of these parameters for a stack of several autoclaves, including steam accumulators and heat recovery systems. But for this purpose, special simulation tools are required.
