Abstract: |
Large-span timber domes are gaining in importance, but are still in direct competition with their steel counterparts. Optimised timber domes stand up to this comparison, and are technically and economically viable alternatives. In this paper, potential means of optimising the costs and construction of timber domes are discussed on the basis of three selected examples. |
