Abstract:

Projects and works carried out using self-compacting concrete

Self-compacting concrete is already a reality in this country. This new material has been used in the execution of different projects and applications for building tremendous success. The construction of the new Town Hall building in Mollet del Vallès (Barcelona) and the bridge in Barrio de la Fuentes (on Zaragosa?s third ring road) are examples of these applications, which represent the implanting in Spain of self-compacting concrete in the same way that the Akashi Bridge or the famous LNG gas tank is representative in Japan. There are other applications of SCC which have been developed in Spain such as, for example, in paving, in the renovation and reconditioning of housing and also in the prefabricated concrete sector.
