Abstract: |
Numerical simulation of composite columns in case of fire.The design procedures used worldwide for composite columns in case of fire with partially simplified approaches provide impetus to an exact comparison on tangible examples. The numerical analysis of a composite column with ANSYS Workbench [1] is described in detail in this paper. The validation mainly relies on external test results of Romero and Espinos [12]. Finally, the numerical results are compared with generally applicable procedures, such as in DIN EN 1994-1-2 [16] which is the currently valid standard in Germany. |
