Abstract:

In the present study, we conduct the numerical simulation for a large-scale tunnel drying kiln in a brick factory performance by Ansys Fluent software. The airflow in the dryer was simulated by three-dimensional turbulence model with a domain of tunnel drying kiln is solved for appropriate boundary conditions. The velocity and temperature distribution of the dryer using the Realizable k–ε model. The CFD model is used to simulate the steady stage heat transfer and airflow within the dryer. In addition, the the meshing method for the dryer was investigated and show the influences on both air temperature distribution and air velocity distribution inside the dryer. From the simulation, the highest and the lowest temperature are 1025 K and 670 K respectively.
