"Standards create markets" is the title of a press release by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology of 2 September 2009. The press release reports on the standards policy adopted by the Federal Government on that day in which the major economic importance of standards and the attainable goals are identified. Some of these are to open markets, deregulate legislation by reference to technical standards or to enhance competitiveness in the international context. Reason enough to take a good look at standardization and to identify the background and structures in the field of masonry construction.
