Abstract:

Amy Brander, winner of the Institution's Pai Lin Li Travel Award in 2018, discusses her research into the WELL Building Standard and the potential to design buildings that prioritise the health and wellbeing of their occupants. Using examples from Sweden and Canada, Amy outlines design features that will impact on structural engineers and considers the challenges that these impose.
