Abstract:

Revision of the verification procedure for vertically loaded sheet piles of the EAU.

On the basis of statistical evaluations of dynamic pile tests and corresponding cone penetration tests, a new verification procedure for vertically loaded sheet piles is introduced. It is shown, that the real bearing capacity of nearly all tested sheet piles is higher than the calculated bearing capacity. By this paper, the new verification procedure is presented to the concerned professional's public. The authors encourage professionals to provide data of dynamic pile tests and corresponding cone penetration tests for further validation of this new approach.
