Abstract:

Revised DIN 4108-2 - Heat protection in summer with Calcium Silicate constructions.

The revised Standard DIN 4108-2 "Thermal protection and energy economy in buildings - Part 2: Minimum requirements to thermal insulation" considers new climate data from the German Weather Service as well as a map with modified summer climate regions which follow from the changed climatic conditions. Furthermore the simplified analysis method concerning summer overheating has been subject to a basic revision. The previous requirement indicator "Overheating-hours" was replaced by the new indicator "Overheating-degree-hours". Ambition of the revision of the standard is an enhanced prediction accurateness of the prognosis method.
On the basis of two exemplarily analyzed room situations, the influence of the heat storage capacity of the room surrounding constructions is examined. For this the simplified "sun-transmittance-characteristic-value-method" is used as well as dynamic-thermal- simulation computations.
