Neues Mörtelsystem für Dünnbettmauerwerk - "Mörtelband"

New mortar system for thin layer mortar masonry - "mortar pad". A new development in the field of thin layer mortars is presented.

This is a mortar pad which is placed in the dry state on the bed joint area of high precision hollow clay units and which is subsequently activated with a defined amount of water. The mortar pad consists of a fibre glass reinforcement and dry mortar which is kept together by a water-soluble hot melt adhesive. The fabric placed in the mortar pads only serves to increase the stability of the mortar pads while laying on the units. In this paper, at first the examinations carried out within the framework of the approval procedure are described. Moreover, it is shown how an approval in the individual case is obtained using a practical example where the mortar pad has already been used.
