Abstract:

The new stadium of the Corinthians in São Paulo.

Special attention will be attracted by the new soccer stadium in São Paulo as it serves not only as a venue for several World Cup Games but also as location for the opening game of the 20th World Cup in Brazil on June, 12th 2014. The Corinthians, one of the most successful soccer clubs in Brazil, had to wait for more than 100 years until they received their own stadium. Subsequently, the design, the structural system of the stadium and the erection procedure of the slender roof structure will be explained.
