Abstract:

New building of the ÖBB-Bridge across the Ötztaler Ache, Austria

After a construction period of only eight months, the third Ötztal Valley Bridge was opened for use, relinquishing a long period of reduced-speed commerce between Innsbruck and Bludenz. The new bridge is a durable and low-maintenance steel and reinforced concrete composite construction, built under the strictest quality control and railway standards. An extensive improvement in noise control and aesthetics in such a prominent area of the Öztal Valley has been undertaken.
