Abstract:

Approximated determination of stress results and dimensioning of micro piles

As a rule, micro piles consist of a round-bar iron core with concrete wrapping. They are used at foundations and complementary foundations under cramped conditions like e. g. in basement rooms with usually low height. In cases in which the penetrated soil shows a soft consistency there might be buckling risk, which requires special considerations for specification of the load bearing capacity. This will be discussed below. Due to the comparatively simple approaches a convenient "hand calculation" is possible with the help of a program for table-calculation. Through this the transparency of the calculation will increase.
