Abstract:

Minimum sound insulation 2010 — generally accepted codes of practice and DIN 4109.

With reference to minimum sound insulation, the 'generally accepted codes of practice' are defined as those levels of requirement considered appropriate by the majority of professionals in the field. The level of requirement described in the current draft version E DIN 4109, issued in October 2006, does not agree with the generally accepted codes of practice in many instances. This article defines key parameters of minimum sound insulation requirements.
