Abstract: |
The Millennium Tower is situated to the north of the centre of Vienna beside the River Danube. With a height of 202 m (including the 30-m antenna), it is the highest building in Austria. The building is a typical example of mixed building technology (MBT). This technology offers numerous new possibilities, such as very slender columns, slim slabs, and excellent fire resistance. MBT combines aspects of numerous construction methods, such that for a particular project the positive aspects of the different methods are taken advantage of, while avoiding the disadvantages of the individual methods. |
