Abstract: A landmark movable bridge for a Dutch fishing village. That’s what bridge design office ipv Delft was commissioned to come up with. In addition, the local council wanted the bridge to be a place for locals to connect. The brief resulted in an iconic bridge on which pylon and counterbalance together resemble a netting needle, the type of needle fishermen use to repair nets.
