Abstract: |
Localized repair methods of concrete columns for total load based in steel jacketsIn previos article (Hormigón y Acero nº 188) it has been described the behaviour of two localized concrete columns repair method: polymeric concrete and steel angles with prestressed bolts jackets. Now it i sdealth with another two, based in steel plate jackets. One of them consists of two steel plates L shaped welded in tw olongitudinal corners leaving a small clearance with respect the original culomn surface that, finally, is injected with resin mortar. The other is built by adhesion of steel plates to the four sides of the column, closing the jacket by means of four steel angles glued to the plates. A method of calculation based on adhesion and friction is established and compared with experimental results that give food agreement with the method of welded and injected jacket. The jacket made with adhered steel plates and angles shows bad behaviour. |
