Abstract: |
Coins and medals are often thought to be alike. In reality, they are two totally different examples of the engraver's art. Coins are for shopping. Medals are in no way a form of currency. They are a means of honoring and remembering. In the following survey, 13 such medals relating to bridges built in the past 200 years will be presented, along with some construction information and some brief historical notes. |
