Abstract: |
The Manavgat Bridge is located in the south of Turkey and provides a crossing over the Manavgat River for the Antalya-Alanya Higway, bypassing the town of Manavgat. The bridge is the first application in Turkey of an orthotropic steel deck for a relatively short single bridge. It is also the first use of the free cantilever erection method for a steel structure. The bridge was designed according to AASHTO specifications with the consideration of some more stringent clauses of the British Standard BS 5400. |
