Abstract: |
This Report provides the statements and conclusions of the IABMAS and JCSS Workshops, held in Lausanne, Switzerland, in March 2003. 43 papers were presented and discussed at this joint event by 84 engineers academia, public authorities and consultancies from 20 countries around the world. These workshops on Life-Cycle Cost Analysis and Design of Civil Infrastructure Systems and Probabilistic Modelling of Deterioration Processes in Concrete Structures were held to focus future research on three important themes in the area of life-cycle cost analysis and design of civil infrastructure systems: risk-based safety evaluation of structures; infrastructure related decision-making and deterioration modelling - identification and implementation of a generally acceptable basis for the probabilistic modelling of deterioration processes in concrete structures and general aspects of the modelling time evolutionary processes. |
