Tilting resistance of slender pedestals of sculptures.On behalf of the Skulpturensammlung Dresden the tilting resistance of slender pedestals of small sculptures had to be verified. The theoretical considerations have been proved by pendulum impact tests and compared with those results. The result is a design approach for the ballasting of slender pedestals, that ensures sufficient stability due to accidental stumbling by museum visitors. |
