Abstract: |
A recently completed Yangtze River rail and road crossing in Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, is an important part of a new rail line connecting Beijing to Hong Kong via Kowloon. The total length of the railway crossing is 7.7 km, and that of the highway bridge is 4.5 km. Double-deck steel trusses with stiffened legs at the top of each pier comprise the superstructure of the main bridge. The lower deck is for two railway tracks, the upper for four highway lanes and two sidewalks. |
