Abstract:

Integrated planning for industrial buildings - Challenges of interdisciplinary design

Design and planning processes for modern industrial buildings are characterized by multitude of boundary conditions taken into account. Extensive demands of the owner and user of the buildings mentioning utilization, costs and time lines as well as many specialist consultants involved in a project have to be considered. To create an optimized solution and to secure cost and schedules a close collaboration of project participants and the use of modern software are inevitable.
This contribution reports about the challenges of practical working with highly complex projects in industrial construction by using integrated approaches of design and planning to gain an efficient and effective workflow which leads to create successful projects.
