Abstract: |
Each composite bridge has an optimum span range and structural type. The space truss structure is particularly suitable for cable-stayed bridges. The space truss structure consists of concrete upper slabs and steel trusses. The SBS (Sumitomo Bakelite Singapore) Linkway Bridge has a space truss structure, the first applied to a cable-stayed bridge. In order to further develop space truss cable-stayed bridges, design methods and details for the connection between the concrete and the steel truss nodes need to be developed. Although the SBS Linkway Bridge is a small pedestrian bridge, some valuable basic data on the design and construction of the space truss has been derived through this project. |
