Abstract: |
The Hotel De Las Artes Complex, Barcelona, forms a part of the overall ocean front development of the Olympic Village to be completed in time for the 1992 Summer Olympics. The complex consists of a 45-story hotel-apartment tower (135 m), a 10-story office block, and low-rise ocean front retail and public spaces. The design of the hotel-apartment tower was based on an exoskeletal exposed steel structure which envelops the glazed and metal clad hotel-apartment floor spaces. The tower is the focus of this paper. |
