Abstract: |
Grouting technology has a long tradition in tunnelling. These specialised works are always available when a tunnel encounters difficult ground conditions, fault zones or areas of heavy water inflow. This article gives an overview of grouting processes in combination with the various tunnelling methods and categorises various processes according to the purpose of grouting or the prevailing conditions on site. An understanding of the manifold drilling technologies, material properties and grouting processes is the most important precondition for the successful application of grouting works. A few selected projects serve as examples for the application of grouting technology in modern tunnelling. |
