Abstract: |
Building of Physiotherapy and Medical Technology at the Lausitz UniversityFor reasons related to cost, time, sustainability and energy performance the architects decided in favour of a single storey building made of prefabricated glulam. However, the elevation of the centre physiotherapy and medical technology of the Lausitz University does not give any clues on its construction. Still the extreme flexible timber construction proved to be an asset as during planning and construction many changes in terms of layout and use had to be made. Due to the type of construction they could be implemented quickly and efficiently. The entire building, including the flat green roof, fulfils some of the highest German standards of energy efficiency. |
