Abstract: |
Waterfront industrial properties throughout the United States have inherited a legacy of environmental degradation stemming from decades of operation prior to the era of environmental awareness and the existence of measures to prevent pollution. Many waterfront industrial businesses are working today to reverse this legacy, in the process establishing industry norms that meet and in some cases exceed regulatory requirements. The measures implemented at Todd Pacific Shipyards Corporation provide an excellent example of environmental stewardship on the working waterfront. |
