Abstract: |
In the first five years of fiber-reinforced composite bridges and decks in the USA, nearly all the projects executed were short, single-span full-depth bridges or decks on steel girders. However, in the past two years, the range of utilization of composite decks on various bridge types has greatly expanded to include the first composite decks on truss, movable and open steel grate bridges, as well as decks on reinforced concrete and carbon tube girders. This paper presents a number of these bridges. |
