Abstract:

Evaluation of component heating for the Herzogskasten monument at Abensberg.

Component tempering as a means to mitigate moisture-driven damage, i.e. direct heating of structural elements in contact with the soil or otherwise moisture-loaded building components, could also improve the building energy efficiency and even comply with the German Energy Saving Ordinance (EnEV), without any further insulation measures. This hypothesis, in addition to an evaluation of the drying-off effect, is taken under closer inspection using the Herzogskasten monument at Abensberg by comparing calculated energy demands, based on DIN V 18599 calculations, with real energy consumption data.
