Abstract: |
The purpose of this work was to determine the current structural conditions of the six central piers of the Maracaibo Bridge. A mathematical model of the structure was prepared and calibrated in accordance with experimental tests carried out during and after construction of the bridge. Top priority was given to evaluation of concrete strength, loss of tension in the internal cables of the box girders, and the need for re-tensioning of the cable stays. |
