Abstract:

Experimental study and modelization of reinforced concrete beams reinforced with fiber glasses (GFRP)

This work describes the numerical and experimental study that has been made on RC beams, reinforced with advanced composite materials. Beams in natural scale (of 3 ms of length) to simple bending were tried to 4 points. The beams have been cracked and soon repaired with fiber glass sheets (GFRP), gluing with adhesive. Finally they have been tried until failure. A simplified method is applied and that turns out very useful to understand the behavior of the beam until failure. The kindness of the method is observed to predict the final critical load, with the made tests.
