Abstract:

This article describes properties relating to the durability of five different mixtures of concrete with varying contents of activated fly ash (CVA) and Portland cement type CPC 40. The tests carried out were:  apparent speed of ultrasonic pulse, electrical resistivity, fast ion permeability chloride and mechanical resistance to compression. The performance of all mixtures proved to be durable, the development of the electrical resistivity, and the decrease in the level of the chloride ion permeability was favored by the contents of CVA, although resistance to compression at higher content of CVA was minor. The maximum percentage of replacement of CVA to comply with the current criteria of durability was 65%.
