Abstract:

A study on prestressed tendons bond to HSC in very short time spans

We have carried out an investigation to study the bond behavior of prestressed reinforcement in high strength concrete (HSC). We have designed a new test to determine the bond characteristics of prestressing strands by means of the transfer and development lengths. As most remarkable innovation, this test allows to determine the development length after the transmission of prestressed. We have developed an experimental program to assess the bond between strands a 7 wires and high performance concrete at early age. We have analysed the influence on bond of variables such as the dosification of concrete, the age of release, the transversal section of the element, the level of stress, the energy of concrete compacting and the speeds of load applications during release and pull-out operations.
